Allie had her special day at school the other day. Her teachers plan a "special day" for children who have summer birthdays. I made her a big chocolate chip cookie, which is her favorite. She got to bring "birthday bear" home (notice him in the picture.) Birthday Bear came home with several birthday movies, books and a journal where you can record what you did with birthday bear while he visited with you. She is going to be sad to return birthday bear back to school. Allie really enjoyed her special day at school!

It's been awhile since I checked out your blog. It is always fun to read and find out what the little monkeys have been doing. I love the idea of Birthday Bear. When I taught we did the same type of activity with a pig when we read Charlotte's Web. Also my my dear friend Beth celebrated half birthday's with her third graders that had summer birthdays. Cara will always remember her half birthday.
