I keep saying that I am NOT going to try to take both children to run errands because it is hard at both of their ages! Well, the other afternoon, Allie woke up early from her nap. So, I decided we could run out really quickly to get an ink catridge for our printer. BIG MISTAKE! I walked in with McCain on my hip and holding Allie, since I thought we would be just running in. Well, it didn't happen quite that way. Allie was fine at the beginning. Then, she decided that she wanted to play a game, so she started running away from me. She ran all the way to the back of the store. Here I was trying to catch her, with McCain on my hip and the ink catridge in my hands. Then, once I got to her, I explained to her why she needs to stay with me in a store, she decided that she didn't want to get up. Finally, once I got her to get up and walk with me to the front to pay for the ink, she decided that she was going to wedge herself into the area where the buggies are stored. When we were ready to leave, she did not want to come out, so I said "Bye Allie" (which almost always works) but she got stuck. She couldn't get out and was crying because her head was stuck. Keep in mind that I still had McCain on my hip. This sweet older couple came over and asked me if they could help. I said "Here" and handed McCain to this man so that I could get Allie out. I still had trouble getting her out but finally I lifted her up over the rail and was able to get her out. Whew- I bet everyone in the store thought I was crazy! I am looking forward to my Saturday shopping trip with the girls! I love Allie dearly, but at this age, she is not the most cooperative in stores, so it's best to leave her at home with Daddy.

This sounds like my life every time I go anywhere- I can completely relate! It's so hard too because I always feel like everyone is watching me to see how I'm going to handle the situtation. Hang in there, it gets better- I think. lol! Ella is a little better about running off, but now I have to chase Brett with Luke on my hips! One day we'll miss this- at least that's what people keep telling me! ;-)
I've been there too. I thought I would make a quick trip into CVS one day with mine...BIG mistake. MacKenzie was OK, but Mason kept running off. I finally got so mad I just put everything I was planning to buy down and walked out of the store with 2 screaming kids! I know people were looking at me and thinking that they were totally out of control! :)
