Mock Election

My K5 class hosted a mock election at our school today. We let all of the children, ages 1 to 5, come and vote! The candidates running were "Mint Chocolate Chip" and "Chocolate" ice cream. Each child got to come and taste each ice cream and cast his or her ballot. Each child also received an "I voted today!" sticker. The boys in my class were the "polling place workers." We have been learning about the election process and our rights as Americans in our K5 class. The boys loved wearing their patriotic hats. Here is a picture of Allie voting with her class.
